Nut exposures 🥜


It is recommended to exposure kids to allergens as much as possible to assist in them not developing a food allergy.


I find the easiest way to do this is to add nut meal to meals.


Picture below of a porridge with hazelnut meal and pancakes with almond meal .


My son is 1 and I know there are no known allergies so I can serve these at the same time.


If you are introducing foods for the first time you might want to do one at a time so you can identify if there is a reaction.


Ideas 💡

- nut meal on banana or avocado fingers to help with grip.

- nut meal in smoothies

- nut meal in baked goods like muffins

- nut meal mixed into yoghurt or purées


🌰 Nuts are a nutrient dense food and high in healthy fats and protein.

🥜 A good source of minerals like zinc, magnesium, selenium and calcium.
